ϟ Day 69 - April 9th, 2012

Today. Got to the barn at 12, did stalls, waited for everyone to arrive while Kassanova grazed happily on the biggest grass in the whole world. Julie, Jill and I took the boys up (Jamie joined us later on) to the ‘virtual’ ring - basically an open field - and I cantered Kassi until he was sick of it. He ran me into a branch the first try, but oh well. Battle wounds are always fun. He was such a good boy. <3

ϟ Day 68 - April 8th, 2012

This picture. Kassi likes big butts and he cannot lie ~ Excuse the leadrope. I clipped it on, realized his butt was massive, and backed up to get a picture.

Kassi didn’t get worked much today. Maybe a half hour’s worth of not serious stuff. He jumped a bit and cantered, but was otherwise bored. I was exhausted from the previous day and he was feeling too lazy to do anything, so he was off the hook. He tried eating an ice cream cone, but instead decided to attack a milkshake which he enjoyed. He was just the biggest sweetheart. <3

And as I typed this I realized that I am mushing my days together and have no idea which of the events in this or my three previous posts occurred on which days. Yay being consistent! Also, my parents came out to watch him and they gave him lots of love.

ϟ Day 67 - April 7th, 2012

Well this is Kassi cantering. Today was great! Woke up, left the hospital and went shopping with Jamie (who was limping like whoa) and Julie. We all went back to the barn after two and a half hours of shopping for ‘classy clothes’ and Julie and I saddled up. We rode Josh and Kassi together for a while and I did stalls, buckets, etc. until 9PM. Jamie asked to play with him, so she free longed him and they played tag. We also taught him to move his back end when he gets poked in the side. The whole time, Kassi was happily munching away on hay and sweet feed. Since I was the only one there, I shut the paddock gate and he wandered around the barn and nibbled on grass. He was loving the alone time. He also visted the locker room looking for treats while I was rearranging everything. And he learned to give kisses!

ϟ Day 66 - April 6th, 2012

Above is a picture from today. Kassi has a massive extended trot. This is him in full roadrunner position with Jamie, who was ready for a canter.

Today was a huge day for Kassi. Everyone wanted to ride him, so he was the town bike again. He graduated to wearing the German in the most comfortable position ever and he really loves having everyone’s attention. I rode him for a while before Jill hopped on. She likes him a lot - he is really fun because of all his suspension. She worked on bending with him before Jamie asked to ride.

Jill, Julie, Jes and I looked at each other like, “why do you want to ride this.” but handed him over. She trotted him around and said she was going to canter. Well canter he did. He was going great until she scared the poop out of him! He got himself into a gallop and then decided to flee the ring. He was pulling up literally two steps before exiting, but she yanked him sideways and bailed. Kassi was fine, but he fell and hurt his ankles. Oh, Kassi. Poor Jamie had roadburn.

He got a huge workout and cantered like a pretty boy.

ϟ Day 65 - April 5th, 2012

Kassi decided that he actually wanted to wear a blouse, not a blanket. This was the result. From here on out, I actually remember what went on! So expect longer posts. He is such a cutie when he wants to be. He loves napping in the sun. <3

ϟ Day 64 - April 4th, 2012

Recently, Kassi borrowed a little sheet from Turner and Jill to help keep some of his fur from growing back faster. The second he had it on, he got it all muddy and tore a hole in it. He is so classy. He loves his grass and I love him, no matter how much of a butthole he is.

ϟ Day 62 - April 2nd, 2012

As of late, the baby boy has been getting exhausted really easily. Most of that is because he is outside so much so he never has time to nap. The grass keeps him up all the time! But whenever you put him in his stall, he walks over to his feed bucket and just rests his chin on it. He is such a smart horse and it is really great to see him happy and content.

ϟ Day 61 - April 1st, 2012

I know it’s weird to call men beautiful, but Kass really is. His big eyes are always warm and loving and he is just the sweetest thing. <3 This was prior to his mane-pulling in case nobody could tell. I think he misses the long mane, but this has to be so much more comfortable for him. And he doesn’t look as shaggy and yak-like.

ϟ Day 60 - March 31st, 2012

By far one of his derpier pictures. Kassi likes to stretch out right before he jumps. Or trots a crossrail when he should be jumping. He does love to jump, but only things that actually require him to put a little butt into it.
